How to Begin
First off, when you set up your trapeze, make sure that it is set right. Always consider safety first. Make sure that the swing can hold your weight. Once that’s out of the way, you can start.
If you’re just starting out, a back bend is a good way to start. To do this, while sitting comfortably on the swing, hold on to the longest strips and slowly lower yourself down backwards. You can keep holding on to the straps, or you can put them to the ground. This opens up your back and chest area, and is a good way to start. You can go into the bow pose or “Dhanurasana”, by holding your ankles with your hands. Stay there a minute and then come back to up.
Exploring
After familiarizing yourself with the trapeze, you can start doing different things.
Lunges- Put you left foot trough the swing, and lean forward, stretching the right leg. Stay there a while and then switch legs. It is a good way to stretch the legs, hip muscles, and the waist.
Straddle- Hold on to the shorter straps with your hands and stand up on the larger straps. Slowly lower your yourself, stretching your legs into a straddle. Holding on to the strap will give you the freedom to stretch as far as you can go, comfortably. From there, you can do pull ups, to strengthen your arms as well.
Upside down routine- Seat yourself comfortably on the Yoga trapeze and use the longer straps to lower yourself down. Bring up the legs in a diamond position by touching the soles. Now, wrap your right foot against the strap and bring your left foot to point at the right ankle. Move your lower body in a clockwork direction, ,and then in antilock work direction with the elbow. This is for building the upper body strength, so without shaking the stand too much, try to put stress on the abs.
With your hands behind your head, you can also do crunches. Switch up the feet, and repeat.
Something for your back – For this, first come into the bow pose. Stretch a while, and then take your right leg, and through the right strap, wrap it around the left strap. Now, hold on to your left ankle with both your hands and stretch. This will stretch your shoulder, hips, and back portion, and you’ll feel the stress leaving. make sure not to put too much stress. release the ankle and, just move your upper body. You can do crunches, or clockwork motion, before switching.
